Afinal parece que os polacos ganharam mesmo o braço de ferro em defesa das suas posições. Lendo a imprensa polaca, coisa que pelos vistos não interessa a ninguém por cá, encontra-se isto em vários locais:

Poland gets its way in Lisbon

An agreement on the final shape of the EU reforming treaty was reached on the first day of the EU summit in Lisbon and the treaty will be signed on 13 December. The Polish delegation has managed to enforce their demand that decisions unfavourable to Poland may be blocked.

President Lech Kaczyński did not hide his contentment that the so-called “Joanina mechanism” would be included in a protocol to the EU treaty and any amendments to it would require unanimity among the Council of Europe.

It was also agreed in Lisbon that Poland would have its own spokesman general at the European Court of Justice and thus would join the group of five the most powerful countries in the EU.

The new EU treaty endorsed by the EU leaders will be signed on 13 December, which is a symbolic date for Poland (imposition of martial law in 1981).

President Kaczyński admitted that the date had a negative connotation in Poland, but said he would not protest it.

Para os ingleses Brown explica que "travou" Bruxelas: "Gordon Brown: No more power to Brussels (...) Gordon Brown has promised British voters that he will halt the European Union juggernaut now the issue of the new Treaty is settled. "

O clamor pelo referendo sobe em vários países. Vai ser interessante acompanhar como as coisas vão evoluir.
