RETRATOS DO TRABALHO EM BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

Paseaperros em Buenos Aires

"Buenos Aires supports a legion of paseaperros, or professional dog walkers, who can some-times be seen with up to 30 canines on leash. They'll stroll through areas like Recoleta, Palermo's parks and even downtown with a variety of dogs ranging from scruffy mongrels to expensive purebreds, each of their tails happily a-waggin'.
Paseaperros are employed by busy or sedentary apartment dwellers who either can't or won't take the time to exercise their animais properly-and are willing to pay up to US$100 per month for this unique walking service. Since most paseaperros don't pay taxes, they can really 'clean up' in the city - figuratively speaking.
Every day, hundreds of thousands of canines deposit tons (literally) of dog shit and urine in the sidewalks, streets and parks of the capital. For this reason, city authorities may begin to regulate the profession by limiting dog walkers to 10 animals at a time, for example, and obliging them to carry a broom and bag to clean up after their charges. Some of these re-quirements are already law, but enforcement is nil."
